Biography: Dairine, since she was a young child, has always valued learning, simply because she sees knowing things as a way to protect herself. Because of this, she taught herself to read, and has since then been doing higher-level work. She has an older sister, Nita, who always taught her new information. However, Dairine began noticing Nita doing new, unexplainable things such as sitting in the yard, whispering softly. Dairine began watching Nita carefully, and finally, on a trip to the beach, found Nita and her friend Kit as they shape-shifted back from whales. Dairine demanded to know everything. In this way, she found out about magic, and this changed her life. Shortly thereafter, she took the Wizard's Oath herself, pledging to defend life and to combat entropy, one of the Lone Power's tools, as well as the Lone Power Itself. Dairine's Ordeal (the test that each wizard undergoes) was harder than most, but at the same time, she was young, and so had vast stores of power at her disposal. In the beginning of her wizardly career, Dairine became used to this great firepower. However, when her mother fell ill with cancer, Dairine's power was already waning, and she could do nothing to stop her mother's death. Since then, Dairine has matured both as a wizard and as a person, and is learning more finesse.
